that is the question. I'm considering tryign to get mi familia to help me put money towards one of the bose wave music systems. the 500 dollar ones that have cd player, radio and aux in. anyone have one? Are they even half decent? Should I even bother? or is there something just as good for cheaper. I never had a chance to sit in front of a boase system before, so I don't really want to blow money, but I'd be willing to get something more expensive if it is good. I listen to a lot of music, so I really want something that sounds good and can fill a room. I really want something that is table top as I don't want to have to lug a huge stereo around if I end up uprooting myself and moving across country. any ideas?
Liam,
I had the Bose Wave. I can tell you that it sounds pretty decent, but the big question is, is it $500 worth of decent? The answer is no.
Denon has a system no unlike the Bose, but with real speakers rather than the old-school paper cones, and at about $100 cheaper. Also check out the Henry Kloss stuff, I hink the brand name is Tivoli, but just google Henry Kloss radios, or somethin like hat, and they'll pop up. Bose is not the system everyone says it is. In fact, we in the audio business say that the word Bose stands for "Buy Other Sound Equipment."
this is interesting cause we studdied this in my management class and the instructor brought one in. I personally can't justify spending $500 on a small system. the sound was darn good but the price would stop. A suggestion you might want to look for, is QVC some times has bose shows. You can try out the product for 30 days then make a decision. Its hard to purchase audio over the tv or net cause most likely you will want to hear it. Just my thoughts.
Bose on ear headphones are not bad :P
I'd like to see it not be $160 either though.
the in ear earbuds does not fit for me, neither sizes.
I'd love to try out Sure headphones though.
